The Power Of Peace

Peace is a powerful spiritual force that becomes a mighty weapon when spoken by a Christian – it will change your city!

Genesis 1 reveals that God spoke the natural realm into existence. He has given us the same ability. When you and I speak faith-filled words in Jesus’ Name, based on God’s Word, all things are possible! By speaking words, we can establish the Kingdom of God in our midst.

As more of us become aware of this, our lives and cities will be changed!

The following verses reveal that Jesus has given us His peace, and the powerful effect it can have in our lives and city.

Jesus Gave And Imparted His Peace To Christians

Peace is a powerful spiritual force and weapon that Jesus gave Christians to use.

John 14:27 (NKJV)
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

The implication of this verse is staggering. It reveals that peace is not a concept, instead it is a part of Jesus’ very nature. He gave us His peace in order to reestablish His Kingdom here on earth.

Peace Calms Storms

Mark 4:39 (NKJV)
Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

Jesus, speaking with authority, unleashed the power of peace to calm a storm. We too can unleash the power of peace to calm any storm we or our city face!

Praying For Peace Activates Jesus To Enter Our Circumstances

Ephesians 2:14 (NIV)
For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility.

Just think, when we pray for peace, Jesus Himself invades the situation, unleashing His peace. This unleashing of spiritual power will destroy dividing walls of hostility, anger, division, hatred and strife between people. Anywhere there’s division He will make the two groups one, bringing unity – that’s powerful!

Peace Has The Authority To Determine Outcomes

Colossians 3:15 (NKJV)
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

The Greek word for rule means “to act as an umpire” – calling the shots like in a baseball game. In other words, when Christians pray for peace, it has the authority and power to change circumstances, commanding them to line up with God’s will and purpose.

As you can see, peace is a powerful force. Your prayers of peace can change cities for the Kingdom!
